About Me

Hey,
I am Akshay, and I am currently woking as a Software Engineer at Oculii Corp. I am very passionate about Machine Learning and Computer Vision, specially their applications in Robotics. I also love to explore ML and CV applications in non-robotics based novel domains. I am currently working as a part of Oculii’s application team, where I get to work on Radar based SLAM, and developing the SDK suite used by Oculii’s customers.

Background

I graduated with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering (Specialization in Robotics and ML) from Carnegie Mellon University in May 2020. There I also worked as a Research Assistant at the AART lab under Prof. Katia Sycara. My masters’ research mainly focused on behavior learning and mistake prediction of an RL agent. Apart from this I have worked extensively in Computer Vision specially in the area of Unsupervised Optical Flow estimation, and Video Super Resolution.
